Good deal on Marriott Bonvoy

I was trying to get enough Marriott Bonvoy points for a trip. The 50% bonus offer on Points.com was exactly what I needed. I compared it to just booking a room outright and this was way better value. My points showed up within an hour too. Worth it for sure.

Reliable for Alaska Airlines miles

I've bought Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles through Points.com a few times now, and they've always been consistent. This last purchase was just like the others. The bonus percentage was good, and the miles always post to my account quickly, usually within an hour or two. I keep coming back because it's predictable and I know what to expect. No surprises, which is what I want when I'm topping up my balance for a trip. It's my go-to when I need a boost.

Bought miles, good experience overall

I decided to buy some United MileagePlus miles during their recent sale for a flight. The ordering process on the website was pretty straightforward, just a few clicks. I got an email confirmation right away. The miles appeared in my United account in about two hours, which was faster than I expected based on some things I read online. I didn't need to contact support, so can't speak to that. The miles worked perfectly for my booking, no issues at all. Everything was as advertised.

Got my Aeroplan points

I was looking to get some Air Canada Aeroplan points for a flight. Found a good bonus offer on Points.com. It was pretty easy to buy them, the site wasn't hard to navigate or anything. The points showed up in my account later that day, like they said they would. Everything worked out fine, got the flight I wanted with the extra points.

Decent for Hilton points, minor delay

I bought Hilton Honors points with a bonus through Points.com. The price was competitive for the amount of points I received, which was great for my upcoming stay. The transaction itself was easy enough on the site. However, it took about six hours for the points to actually show up in my Hilton account. Not a huge deal, but I was hoping for them a bit quicker so I could book right away. Customer service was responsive when I emailed them about the delay, though, confirming they were processing. Overall, a good way to get points, just be prepared for a potential wait.

What's the deal with promo codes? Do they even have them or is it just automatic bonuses?

R Raj G. 1 month ago
Most of the time it's automatic bonuses, like you just see the extra points added to your purchase when you go through the buying process. I've rarely seen actual codes.

S Sarah N. 1 month ago
Yeah, usually the bonus is just advertised on the page and automatically applied. Sometimes for specific email offers, you might need to click a special link but I haven't seen a 'promo code' box myself when buying points.

If I buy some Hilton Honors points and then change my mind, can I get a refund?

P Paula 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure points purchases are usually final. Like, once they're in your account, they're yours. Best to double-check before buying.

Generally no, points purchases are non-refundable. You really need to be sure before you hit buy. It's pretty standard for loyalty programs.

Can I transfer points from, say, my Marriott account to my Alaska Airlines account using this platform?

S Sophie 1 month ago
Not directly between different brands like that through Points.com itself, no. It's more for buying or gifting points within a single program or sometimes transferring points to other people's accounts in the *same* program.

Nah, you can't cross-transfer like that. You can buy Marriott points or buy Alaska miles, but you can't convert your Marriott points into Alaska miles here. Some loyalty programs let you convert within their own partners, but that's usually done on the loyalty program's site directly.

Are there any extra fees when you buy points, or is the price you see the final price?

S Shane Beaumont 2 months ago
Usually, the price they show is what you pay. I haven't noticed any hidden fees tacked on at checkout when buying United miles.

B Brett 2 months ago
It's generally the price advertised, plus any taxes that might apply depending on your location. No separate 'transaction fee' like some other places charge, from my experience.

Anyone know how this compares to something like AwardWallet or The Points Guy? Are they similar services?

P Paula 1 month ago
Points.com is for buying and sometimes transferring points. AwardWallet is for tracking all your different loyalty balances. The Points Guy is a blog with travel tips and deals. Very different services.

They're not really competitors in the same way. Points.com is where you *get* points. AwardWallet helps you *manage* them once you have them. TPG gives you *advice* on how to use them. You'd probably use all three at different stages.
